GlasswareJulie is a jewel-like carafe of the finest laboratory glass. On one side is an opening for filling, through which ice cubes or lemon slices will pass with ease. On the other side you will find a modest spout, whose minimal lip makes spills almost impossible.
This bird-like carafe was designed in a family of stacked glassware but in itself proved to be the star of the party. It was further developed and a cork lid was added, which helps distinguish the back from the front. The decanters come in three sizes: Small to serve a iced coffee – or a matcha latte, Mid-sized to offer water at the dinner table. The Large size allows – for instance – your Bordeauxs to breathe.

Julie is a jewel-like decanter of the finest laboratory glass. It has two openings, a large one for filling – its size allows for ice cubes, lemon slices, mint leaves to fit through – and a the small one with an elegant snout for pouring. The snout’s glass was made thinner with a little curve for pouring ease.

The glass and the cork are sourced on different places in Europe: Czech Republic and Portugal. The parts are produced in small local crafts studios. The Czech craftsmen are close liaisons of Maarten Baptist’s studio and also work on the studio’s Tripod Glasses and Everything Glasses. Borosilicate glass / laboratory glass is their favourite material. It has a high material density, is heat resistant and dish washer safe. As such it lends itself very well as a material for the Julie decanter.

Borosilicate glass is the strongest kind of glass. Please prevent big temperature shocks, such as pouring in a hot drink when the carafe sits on a cold worktop.

YVE clear glass vase
GlasswareIn collaboration with a local Dutch glassmaker and a Belgium woodworker, Maarten Baptist created a series of vases. All made from borosilicate glass but in clear and Jade green colour. There are 3 different shapes Wide vase, Middle tall vase and Tall Vase. And the Jade green series also has a Tall vase with a narrow neck.
Tripod water glasses
GlasswareWhat happens if you take a classic wineglass and replace its round base with a tripod? This glass is easier to grasp firmly, which makes swirling the wine easier too. Tripod glasses are sold by the piece. The glasses are hand made. They are made from technical glass and 100% dishwasher safe and made from one piece of glass. These glasses are also in the design collection of MOMA SF in San Francisco
