Last year, I introduced my inaugural set of hand-carved cups crafted from quartz crystal stones. Building on that success, this year’s collection expands to encompass not only luminous yellow quartz but also captivating pink and grey quartz cups. Building on that success, this year’s collection expands to encompass not only luminous yellow quartz but also captivating pink and grey quartz cups. Complement these exquisite cups with small or large coasters to complete your desired design.
Originally crafted for the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven at @sectie_c, these cups garnered tremendous acclaim, particularly the yellow bowls. Encouraged by the positive response, I ventured into creating additional hues such as pink and grey quartz crystal, with plans to introduce more colors like green and blue in the future. If you can’t attend, feel free to reach out for more information.
The yellow cups are ideal for serving specialty coffee, while the pink and grey variants, though more delicate with hot beverages, serve as stunning sculptures. Pre-heating is recommended. Each of these unique pieces bears my signature, Maarten Baptist.
However, when serving hot drinks, it’s advisable to very slowly pre-heat them due to the natural and delicately unpredictable nature of the material when exposed to rapid temperature changes.
