Crystal Clear TRIPOD Glass Vase Set

Designer Maarten Baptist loves to combine traditional techniques with a healthy dose of guts. The three-legged wine glass originated from his desire to make a wine glass with a different kind of base than usual. It gives the glass a uniquelook and feel. Something that was recognized by the MoMa Museum in San Francisco, where it is now part of theirpermanent collection.

Because of its three legs, the glass looks very delicate and fragile to many. But borocilicate glass, which was used for thisentire series, is one of the strongest types of glass in existence. Because of that, these tripod glasses are not as fragile asthey may seem. A great advantage is that they fit very nicely in your hand, mainly because of the fact that you can hold your glass at the tripod. And thus, it invites you to let your red wine or whisky waltz around in your glass.

Although the first edition of this series dates back to 2005, Maarten regularly adds new variations to the collection. Mostrecently he made the extra-large champagne glass (2022). At 30 cm, this tall glass is specifically designed as a vase, madeof solid white, lavender blue and transparent glass. The regular size champagne glass (19 cm / 7.6”) is made from thesame type of glass and together these two make an attractive set of vases for your flower arrangements. The two vases combined make a great design giftset for the design aficionado with a love for flowers.

The tripod glasses for red wine, white wine, champagne and water are available in a gift box of 4 pieces. The Martini andWhisky glasses are available in a set of 2. The espresso glass and the glass presentation dish are available separately, pertwo pieces or in a set (1 glass and 1 dish). All items in this series are made of borosilicate (laboratory) glass. Although it is always better to wash them by hand,they are therefore 100% dishwasher safe.
