Candle holder — minimal, formed from a single 3D laser cut steel tube

Minimalist or brutalist sculpture. Industrially constructed. Ready to burn. — A plain steel tube that’s being 3D laser cut after a series of bends. That’s what Maarten did to create something in his unique way of designing. These candle holders are not assembled — they’re formed. Each piece starts as a single tube, precisely cut in 3D, and by bending the elements the shape is created, showing the movement in the finished object. No joints. No glue. Just the logic of the shape explaining how it’s made — and using that to decorate the object.
Why I make them in series
I honestly don’t know why I can’t stop at one. The moment I made the first design, I needed to create a family in the same shape language. First came the holder for 3 candles — then it was asking for a four-candle version, and then six. There’s something about the rhythm of the folded tube that gives this object a magic that just works.
Alongside the standard series — available for 3, 4, or 6 candles — I also designed an XL brutalist version for three large candles, made to place on the floor. The table holders come in three finishes: natural silver galvanized, matte black, and grey-beigebeige RAL 1019 (matte). The XL is only made in one: black-red RAL 3007. It’s a statement piece — bold, heavy, unapologetic.
Details that matter
Inside each tube, I’ve pressed in small metal safety plates. When a candle burns all the way down, the wick can’t fall through — a small detail, but one that matters when you leave them burning on an evening. Safety built into the structure, not bolted on.
I also designed a matching tray specifically for these holders — made from the same tubes and plates, so it belongs with the set. It elevates the holder slightly, giving it presence on a cabinet or dining table, and it catches any dripping wax so your surfaces stay clean. It’s the kind of thing you don’t notice until you don’t have it.
All pieces are made from galvanized steel or durable powder-coated tube. The powder coating is heat-safe — the colour holds.

All holders are available individually, with the matching tray, or as a complete set including perfectly fitting candles — 19 mm diameter for the standard series (ready to use the moment it arrives), or 69 mm diameter tube candles for the XL floor version. Everything is in stock and ships the same day. And honestly? They look just as good without a flame in them.
